JONESBORO, Ark. – The upcoming school year makes this the perfect time to remind drivers in Arkansas to respect school buses and the laws requiring you to stop as they let children off and on.
No exceptions exist, according to the statutes posted to Facebook by Arkansas State Police on Tuesday. When a school bus is using its flashing red lights, drivers on BOTH sides of the road must stop.
This is to ensure the safety of children who could run out from behind a bus, a vehicle, or a blind spot on their trek to and from home.
