
WILBURN, Ark. – A suspected drug trafficking operation busted recently yielded major results in Cleburne County, a release said.
In June of 2017, the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office opened an investigation into an individual suspected of trafficking large amounts of methamphetamine into Cleburne County, Sheriff Chris Brown said in a release. During the course of the investigation, Deana Winter Mathias, 48, from Tulare, California developed as the main suspect believed to be trafficking large amounts of meth from California and into Cleburne County for distribution.
Investigators with the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office and the 16th Judicial Drug Task Force executed a search warrant on July 31, 2017 at Mathias’ residence in the McJester Road area near Wilburn. During a search of the residence, investigators located one firearm, and approximately 470 Grams (just over one pound) of Crystal Methamphetamine.
It held an approximate street value of $47,000.00. Investigators also located $2,889.00 cash, believed to have been acquired from the proceeds of methamphetamine sales, and over five ounces of marijuana.
Mathias is currently being held in the Cleburne County Jail on no bond.
All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
