HEBER SPRINGS, Ark. – A press release Monday from the county sheriff said a young woman died on the lake over the weekend.
At approximately 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2017, Cleburne County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a call of an unresponsive female at Dam Site Park. Upon arrival, EMT’s were performing CPR on a white female, later identified as Kirstie Heinen, 19, of Conway.
Witnesses said that Heinen was riding a tube when she suddenly fell off and seemed to be struggling in the water. She was loaded onto the boat and taken to Dam Site Park where she was then transported to the Heber Springs Baptist Health emergency room.
Heinen was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
This incident is under investigation, said a release from Sheriff Chris Brown.
