JONESBORO, Ark. – A temper meltdown between two roommates resulted in a reported aggravated assault late Thursday in Jonesboro.
At about 10:40 p.m., Officer Tyler Wilson was contacted by the complainant at the 2500-block of Forest Home Road who said he was in the other room when his roommate, 21, was being loud and making sounds. He said he overheard him say, “I will kill you,” “Blow your brains out,” and “In your asleep.”
The complainant knocked on the door to check on his roommate and said he heard a bolt-action rifle chambering a bullet. The roommate turned on the light to his room, opened it, and the report said he was revealed to be holding a rifle at his waist line pointing it toward the complainant.
Likely horrified, he ran down the stairs, got his girlfriend and left the residence, the report detailed.
He said the suspect was upset about the electric bill not being paid. He said he did not want his roommate to get in trouble and just wanted a restraining order against him.
It was not indicated the case would be investigated in the report.
