JONESBORO, Ark. – A robbery on Gee Street is being investigated by JPD.
On Thursday (06/08/17) at approximately 11:52 a.m., officers responded to an aggravated robbery call at Gee Street Tobacco Store at 504 Gee St.
Dispatch advised that a black female had entered the store, indicated she had a weapon and robbed the clerk. Dispatch also told officers that the suspect had left southbound on Gee Street in a red Ford Focus. Officers located a vehicle matching the description and contacted the driver, who was not the suspect, but who had given the suspect – who the witness said is homeless and someone to whom she often givves rides and food – a ride to the tobacco store.
The suspect, said to be wearing purple pants or leggings and a long-sleeved shirt, was last seen in the area of the Food Smart grocery store on Gee Street.
No arrests have been made. The amount of money taken has not been determined.
