JONESBORO, Ark. – A woman is accused of writing herself $4,300 in bad checks from Kroger, a police report suggests.
Jonesboro Police Department was dispatched to Kroger on South Caraway Road in Jonesboro to take the report Dec. 29. There, a loss prevention officer said an ex-employee, Priscilla Watkins, had written herself 47 bad checks in the amount totaling $4,300, the report said.
The officer said more bad checks may show up later.
Watkins reportedly worked in the fuel center and would write the checks in there because it would be hard to detect due to the checks traveling all the way to Cincinnati, Ohio, the report said.
Watkins faces a charge of knowingly issuing worthless checks, a misdemeanor, although other charges may apply.
