Burglars kick door in, rob and beat man at gunpoint

JONESBORO, Ark. – A man was the target of a vicious attack by several burglars, an incident report with Jonesboro Police Department said Wednesday.

At about 10 p.m. Tuesday night, JPD was dispatched to an apartment complex at 101 Holmes Road in Jonesboro, where they found the door of a residence kicked in. The burglary had already occurred.

The report says a 24-year-old male victim was robbed at gunpoint, cut with a knife and hit in the head with an object. Police had to calm the man once they arrived. EMS eventually transported him to NEA Baptist hospital.

A small black knife was found by police near the front door.

During the burglary, three suspects reportedly stole a 42-inch Samsung flat screen, a PS4, and $1,200 in cash. An Ashley Furniture mirror, an Apple iPad, an iPhone 6 Plus, several bank cards and a social security card were also taken.

The suspects were described as standing approximately 6’1″ and having a medium build.

Detectives are investigating the incident.

The suspects face felony charges of theft over $1,000, aggravated residential burglary, and second degree battery.
