JONESBORO, Ark. – A burglary and missing 17-year-old were reported by the same person Tuesday, with the teen later being located.

It was reported Tuesday morning at the 400-block of Brentwood Drive. Jonesboro Police Department arrived to learn of a burglary into a woman’s residence. She told officers someone came in, stole her televisions and possibly took her 17-year-old son.

The woman suspected her son owed a drug dealer called “Tank” money. She suspected he was behind the break-in and believed either her son ran away for fear of his safety – or was kidnapped.

A 52-inch TV and 48-inch TV were reported stolen.

Later in the day, the woman completed a missing person report, believing her son ran away because he believed he is putting his family’s life in danger since he owed a drug dealer money, the report said.

The 17-year-old was later located in Bono by Bono Police Department. He was taken to the Craighead County Juvenile Detention Center, per juvenile probation.

A related burglary was reported to police Friday night, with a 46-inch flatscreen, a Playstation 4 and other items also being stolen from a Jonesboro man’s home.
