Jonesboro Jiu-Jitsu team dominates at state championship

JONESBORO, Ark. – A team of grapplers in Jonesboro took their talents to a state championship and dominated.

The American Grappling Federation 2016 Arkansas State BJJ Championship was held Saturday at the Conway Expo Center & Fairgrounds in Conway. LandShark Jiu-Jitsu, practicing at Hilltop Fitness on Old Greensboro Road in Jonesboro, had several athletes compete. 

  • Caleb McBeth; won gold no-gi, gold absolute no-gi, silver and bronze in gi.
  • Noah Robinson; won gold in gi, silver in no-gi
  • Tyler Robinson; silver in gi

Finally, Bellator Heavyweight Mike Wessel, who trains with Dan “LandShark” Paige’s team, also competed and won gold in expert pro no-gi division.

“I’m very proud of LandShark Jiu-Jitsu,” Paige said. “It was our first tournament in Arkansas and I’m pleased with the rapid growth of our athletes.”
