JONESBORO, Ark. – While a man was in the hospital, someone tallied up a $1,400 list of expenditures with his debit card, a report detailed.

The 61-year-old man was hospitalized on Oct. 6, his report to police said, and during that time, he said he let his neighbor use his car. His wallet was in the car at that time.

However, when the man was released from the hospital, he found his debit card removed and learned it had been used several times without his permission. He said $1,400 was spent during this time period across several purchases.

His neighbor was the only suspect because of the access to the car.

Police are investigating.
