JONESBORO, Ark. – Before a gathering at the Political Animals meeting Friday at the Jonesboro Regional Chamber of Commerce, Arkansas State University President Charles Welch talked about both the good and the bad.
However, it was clear there was a lot more positive news to talk about than negatives.
Welch made mention of record enrollment, of ASU being one of the more affordable institutions for higher education in Arkansas, and other reasons why students have continued flocking to the campus in Jonesboro, Newport and soon, ASU Mexico.
Much was discussed about how the venture south of the Rio Grande will be a low-risk but high-reward project for the campus.
Welch said there were going to be tweaks and changes and discussed the search for a new chancellor, as well.
The entire speech was streamed live on the NEA Report Facebook page and can be viewed below.
