Cushman teen killed in weekend crash

BATESVILLE, Ark. – The winding roads of Independence County claimed the life of a 19-year-old Cushman resident Sunday.

Randy J. Riley, 19, of Cushman, was killed in the crash just after 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning. According to the Arkansas State Police crash incident report, Riley was driving a 2000 Chevrolet truck northbound on Arkansas Highway 69 when the vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, causing it to flip.

The report states the driver was taken to White River Medical Center, where he passed away from injuries in the accident.

No others were injured or involved in the accident, according to state police.

Conditions were dry and weather was clear at the time of the accident, the report said.
