JONESBORO – The Convocation Center at Arkansas State University has a new presence on the A-State website.
As one of the major public outreach facilities on campus, a website with pertinent, up-to-date information and ease of use is crucial to the Convocation Center’s success. The design and site maintenance have returned to campus after being contracted out in recent years.
“We are very happy to have a new website design, especially one that has originated here on campus,” said Tim Dean, director of the Convocation Center. “The design allows us much greater flexibility from a user perspective, while having a much greater appeal to the customer.”
The Convo site, last updated about four years ago, now has a fresh new look: AStateConvo.com.
“We asked our Digital Creative Media team on campus to take a look at the site. They took our concept and really made it come to life in a very clean and easy-to-read format,” explained Brad Pietz, director of marketing. “With our site now being hosted on campus, it gives us the ability to instantly update every calendar on campus with Convocation Center events.”
He added the previous webmaster was a great partner for several years, but having the campus web team close by “… provides us with immediate help when we need it. Another big advantage is financial as we can piggy-back off the campus site and existing university partners.”
Formally opened in 1987, the Convocation Center will mark its 30th anniversary of operation next year. In addition to the site of commencement ceremonies, concerts and major public gatherings, the Convo is home for Red Wolves basketball and volleyball.
