Another pizza delivery driver robbed at gunpoint

JONESBORO, Ark. – Just hours after a Papa John’s delivery driver was robbed at gunpoint, another faced a similar situation in Jonesboro.

Early Thursday morning at about 12:20 a.m., officers were dispatched to an apartment complex at the 300-block of Melrose Avenue. A Domino’s pizza driver, visibly shaken up the officer said, had been robbed at gunpoint.

Unlike what appeared to be a crime of opportunity earlier in the evening when a Papa John’s driver was robbed, this incident seemed to be more planned.

The driver had been given specific instructions by the pizza customer to come to an apartment. He even called the woman who ordered the food to confirm the order. However, once he arrived at the designated apartment, a man wearing a bandanna over his face with a black, 9mm Beretta put the gun against his head and demanded money.

All for about $30.

Authorities traced the phone to a woman living nearby, who had a brother matching the description of the robber. Investigators plan to follow up on all leads.
