MARIANNA, Ark. – A convicted killer and child pornographer who led authorities on a manhunt after he escaped from prison Monday near Northeast Arkansas is back in custody, according to the Arkansas Department of Correction.
Lloyd Jones, 40, is again serving a 60-year sentence for meeting a 16-year-old girl online and strangling her to death, abusing the corpse, and also being in possession of child pornography.
He pleaded guilty in 2012 to the murder and other charges, according to KFSM.
During the sentencing, the victim’s mother told KFSM, “That’s what I’m thankful for, he can’t hurt another innocent bystander.”
However, Jones escaped prison Monday in Lee County and authorities led a manhunt to find the man, culminating in his capture just after 3 p.m. Thursday.
