Suspect Faces Felony for Alleged Attack on Doctor

PARAGOULD, Ark. – A man is facing a felony charge after an incident where he allegedly became violent with medical personnel at a Paragould hospital.

On May 4, 2024, the Paragould Police Department responded to the Arkansas Methodist Medical Center (AMMC) emergency room. The probable cause affidavit says that police were told of medical staff being struck by a patient.

The alleged victim was a doctor tending to the suspect. The doctor reported the suspect became irate and advanced toward him while swinging punches. The doctor was able to avoid a punch to the face but was struck on the arm.

Two registered nurses witnesses the incident, the affidavit says.

Katioman Tiiman, 39, of Paragould, was arrested on a second degree battery charge, a Class D felony.

Judge Dan Stidham found probable cause to hold him in the case and set his bond at $10,000 cash only. The defendant was also ordered not to return to AMMC during the course of this case.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
