INDEPENDENCE COUNTY, Ark. — Video obtained by NEA Report shows a dirt bike rider fleeing an Arkansas State Police trooper before disappearing into a wooded area in rural Independence County.
The pursuit happened May 16, 2026, on U.S. Highway 167 near Misty Lane, according to a report from Arkansas State Police.
Cpl. Jeff Richardson reported he was stationary on U.S. 167 just north of Misty Lane when he saw a green dirt bike pass him on the right while traveling through the grass. The dirt bike continued southbound before moving onto the shoulder.
Richardson attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the dirt bike accelerated, crossed all lanes of traffic and turned onto Misty Lane in a reckless manner, according to the report.
The rider was described in the report as a white male wearing a gray shirt, blue jeans, a ski mask and a black cap.
ASP said the dirt bike traveled north on Misty Lane and reached speeds of 74 mph in a 45 mph zone. The rider then entered the property at 169 Misty Lane before continuing into a wooded area.
The pursuit was terminated as soon as the rider entered the woods, according to the report. No arrest was listed in the report.
