Angel Cude Faces Drug Charges in Two Cases After Task Force Arrest

Angel Denise Cude faces charges tied to an August traffic stop and a November search of her Jonesboro home. Bonds were set at $100,000 and $50,000.

JONESBORO, Ark. — An arrest on an outstanding drug warrant led to a second case against a woman after investigators reported finding more suspected methamphetamine during a search of her Jonesboro home, according to probable cause affidavits.

Angel Denise Cude, 54, faces charges stemming from an Aug. 27 traffic stop and a Nov. 3 search of her residence. Special Judge Barbara Halsey found probable cause Nov. 4 and set separate cash or surety bonds of $100,000 in the traffic-stop case and $50,000 in the residential-search case.

The earlier case began when an investigator saw Cude driving a tan Buick with expired tags near East Matthews Avenue and Marion Berry Parkway, according to the affidavit. The investigator reported seeing movements near the center console and Cude lifting herself from the seat while moving her right arm toward her legs.

During a stop at Aggie Road and Marion Berry Parkway, the investigator instructed Cude to retrieve what she had hidden between her legs. She retrieved a black bag containing 35.1 grams of suspected methamphetamine, the affidavit alleges.

After being advised of her rights, Cude allegedly described the amount as a little more than an ounce of methamphetamine and said she used her cellphone to contact her supplier. The affidavit says she told the investigator her supplier provided drugs upfront and she repaid the supplier after selling enough.

In that case, Cude faces possession of methamphetamine in an amount greater than 10 grams but less than 200 grams, a Class B felony; use of a communication device, a Class C felony; and an expired vehicle license or failure to pay registration fee charge.

Members of the U.S. Marshals fugitive task force located Cude at her Monica Street residence Nov. 3 on the felony bench warrant. Cude was on active felony probation, and task force officers reported finding suspected drugs during a probation search, according to the second affidavit.

Agents with the 2nd Judicial Drug Task Force responded and reported finding a bag containing approximately 28.7 grams of a white crystalline substance in Cude’s bedroom. An investigator said a TruNarc scanner returned a positive result for methamphetamine.

The affidavit also lists another 1.6 grams of suspected methamphetamine in an M&M’s container, two buprenorphine and naloxone sublingual film strips, 6.8 grams of suspected marijuana, two suspected meth pipes, two digital scales with suspected residue and a handwritten ledger containing names, phone numbers and numbers investigators believed represented weights and amounts.

Agents also reported finding a mirror and platter with suspected drug residue, a suspected marijuana grinder and a THC vape pen in Cude’s vehicle.

In the second case, Cude faces possession of methamphetamine with purpose to deliver, greater than 10 grams but less than 200 grams, a Class A felony; possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class B felony; and misdemeanor counts of possession of a Schedule III controlled substance, possession of a Schedule VI controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Her next court appearance in both cases is scheduled for Jan. 25, 2027, at 8:30 a.m. in Craighead County Circuit Court.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
