PARAGOULD, Ark. — A Paragould man faces a felony allegation after police say he admitted threatening to shoot someone during a phone call.
Jokonidrik Anjain is accused of first-degree terroristic threatening, a Class D felony, according to an affidavit filed in Greene County District Court.
Paragould police were dispatched Oct. 1 to a residence on Ada Street after receiving a report of threats, the affidavit states.
The person who contacted police said Anjain had called the previous night and threatened to shoot them. The person also provided officers with a text-message exchange in which they confronted Anjain about the threat.
According to the affidavit, Anjain replied, “That was last night. I was upset.”
Police interviewed Anjain at the Paragould Police Department on Oct. 2. During a Mirandized interview, Anjain admitted saying, “I’m going to shoot you,” the affidavit states.
Paragould police Detective Cpl. Tron Beesley signed the affidavit. A judge found probable cause for an arrest warrant. He was booked on October 2 at 7:02 PM into the Greene County Detention Center.
Bond was set by Judge Curtis Hitt at $75,000 surety or another form acceptable to the Greene County sheriff. Conditions of any release include no contact with the alleged victim or witnesses, no possession of weapons and compliance with ankle-monitor requirements.
The charge is an allegation. Anjain is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
