BLYTHEVILLE, Ark. — A jury found Malek Merriweather not guilty of aggravated robbery and third-degree battery Thursday, Sept. 17, according to signed verdict forms filed in Mississippi County Circuit Court.
The jury also rejected robbery as an alternative verdict on the aggravated robbery charge. The two forms, filed in the Blytheville District, confirm the acquittals in case 47BCR-26-4.
On the aggravated robbery form, jurors could find Merriweather guilty of aggravated robbery, guilty of robbery or not guilty. The foreperson signed the not-guilty line, leaving both guilty options unsigned.
The separate third-degree battery form likewise bears the foreperson’s signature beneath the not-guilty finding. Its guilty line is blank.
Aggravated robbery was the most serious charge listed in the case, classified as a Class Y felony. Third-degree battery was listed as a Class A misdemeanor.
The case was filed Jan. 8, 2026, and lists an alleged offense date of Oct. 2, 2025. Court records identify John Henderson Bradley as Merriweather’s defense attorney.
The online court record also lists a carrying-a-weapon charge, a Class A misdemeanor. Neither verdict form addresses that charge, and its disposition had not been entered in the public docket when NEA Report reviewed the record Sept. 18.
Although the online case summary continued to show the case as open with blank disposition fields, the signed verdict forms document the jury’s not-guilty findings on the aggravated robbery and battery charges.
All suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
