Police: Suspect Hid Stolen Library Key Fob in Ball of Toilet Paper

🧻 Police say Patrick Anthony Osborne stole an employee’s key fob from a restroom at the Jonesboro Public Library before hiding it inside a ball of toilet paper in another restroom stall.

Officers allegedly found the fob and confirmed its owner by using it to start the employee’s vehicle. Osborne, who recently pleaded guilty to residential burglary and felony theft, now faces another felony theft charge. His bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety. [read more…]

Man Accused of Pressuring Witness to Drop Charges, Telling Him to ‘Shoot It Out’

🚨 “You gone drop the charges or not?”

Jonesboro police say Charles Edward Beare went to a witness’s apartment after his brother was arrested in an alleged firearm theft and pressured the man to drop the charges. As the confrontation escalated, Beare allegedly told the witness to come around the corner to “shoot it out.”

Beare now faces a Class B felony carrying up to 20 years in prison. His bond was set at $50,000 cash or surety. The court noted he was on probation and had been arrested on firearm-possession charges three days before the alleged confrontation. [read more…]
