JONESBORO, Ark. — The primary runway at Jonesboro Municipal Airport closed this month as construction moved into its next phase, airport officials announced.
The runway project is approximately 50% complete and is expected to reopen by Oct. 1. Airport operations are continuing on the secondary runway, allowing business to proceed as usual during construction.
Work also continues on the airport’s new terminal, which is approximately 40% complete. Crews are installing climate-control systems and electrical infrastructure.
Weather delays have pushed the terminal project beyond its original November completion target. Officials did not announce a revised completion date.
The airport’s new hangars are approximately 50% complete and remain on schedule to be finished by Oct. 1.
