BLYTHEVILLE, Ark. — A 20-year-old man was arrested after a 17-year-old was shot multiple times and killed in Blytheville, according to police.
Officers responded July 13 to the 1300 block of Kingwood after receiving a report that someone had been shot, the Blytheville Police Department said in a news release.
Police found the 17-year-old suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Officers provided aid until Pafford Ambulance Service arrived and transported the teen to Great River Medical Center.
The victim later died from their injuries. Police did not release the teenager’s name.
Officers arrested Christopher Brimlett-Blankenship, 20, of Blytheville, at the scene in connection with the shooting, according to the release.
Brimlett-Blankenship was taken to the Mississippi County Sheriff’s Office and faces one count of first-degree murder and two counts of endangering the welfare of a minor.
He was scheduled to appear Tuesday, July 14, in Blytheville District Court for arraignment.
Police did not disclose what allegedly led to the shooting or provide additional information about the endangerment allegations.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
