BULL SHOALS, Ark. — Arkansas State Police (ASP) has arrested a former City of Bull Shoals Court Clerk following an investigation into missing fine payments.
On September 15, 2025, ASP Special Agents initiated a criminal investigation of Darla Jo Hulen, 49, of Flippin, at the request of the 14th Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney.
The investigation, supported by an audit conducted by Arkansas Legislative Audit, determined that Hulen had misappropriated $2,210 in court fine payments while employed as the Bull Shoals Court Clerk.
On Tuesday, April 21, 2026, Hulen was taken into custody by ASP and transported to the Marion County Detention Center. She is charged with one felony count of Theft of Property. Her bond was set at $10,000.
