Traffic Stop in Jonesboro Leads to 42-Gram Meth Delivery Arrest

JONESBORO, Ark. — A traffic stop in Jonesboro led to the arrest of a suspect after police said they found about 42 grams of suspected methamphetamine hidden in his pants leg.

Jordan Jerome Mcadoo, 35, of Jonesboro, was arrested on April 7, 2026, on charges of possession of methamphetamine or cocaine with purpose to deliver greater than 10 grams but less than 200 grams, a Class A felony, and failure to use a turn signal.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Officer Ben Bass initiated the traffic stop after seeing a vehicle back out of a driveway on West Nettleton Avenue and begin traveling eastbound on Nettleton. Police said the vehicle then turned onto Dupwe Avenue without using a signal and appeared to be traveling in excess of the speed limit.

The affidavit said the vehicle stopped at Dupwe and Woodsprings Road and activated its left turn signal while waiting to turn. Officer Bass then activated his lights to begin the traffic stop, and the vehicle continued a short distance before stopping on the Woodsprings Road overpass.

Police said Bass approached the driver, identified as Mcadoo, and requested his driver’s license and insurance. According to the affidavit, the officer noticed Mcadoo’s hands shaking as he looked for the documents.

The affidavit said Bass asked Mcadoo to step out of the vehicle. Police said Mcadoo then began fastening his belt and pants, which the officer described as unusual. Bass contacted K-9 Officer Martin, and a free-air sniff of the vehicle resulted in a positive alert, according to the affidavit.

A probable cause search of the vehicle led officers to a box of Narcan in the rear, but nothing else of evidentiary value was found, according to police.

Officers then searched Mcadoo’s person. The affidavit said Mcadoo was hesitant to comply with instructions and did not effectively widen his stance. While searching Mcadoo’s right leg, Bass reported feeling a hard object inside the pants leg. After pushing the item toward the bottom of the leg, the officer said he saw a clear plastic bag containing a white crystal substance.

According to the affidavit, Mcadoo was then placed in handcuffs, and officers recovered the bag. Based on training and experience, Bass identified the substance as suspected methamphetamine, which was weighed on scene at about 42 grams.

Mcadoo was transported to the Craighead County Detention Center.

His bail was set at $150,000 cash or surety. His next court date is May 18.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
