Concord High School Principal Arrested for Assault in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. — The principal of Concord High School was arrested for assault Saturday in Jonesboro, jail records show.

Corey Thomas Throckmorton, 47, was arrested on March 7, 2026, at 12:24 PM on a charge of second-degree assault on a family or household member, a misdemeanor, according to records from the Craighead County Detention Center.

According to a Jonesboro Police Department incident report, officers responded March 7, 2026, to a reported domestic disturbance that was described as having become physical. Officers spent about 30 minutes attempting to make contact at the residence by knocking on doors and windows while dispatch attempted to reach someone by phone, but no one answered.

While officers were still on scene, the suspect, the alleged victim, and an 11-year-old witness arrived at the location in a pickup truck. The suspect told officers the family had been driving to a baseball tournament when he and the alleged victim began arguing in the vehicle. He said he warned that if the argument continued, he would take the alleged victim back home, and when the dispute continued, he turned the vehicle around and returned.

The suspect told officers that once they arrived back, the argument continued, and he grabbed the alleged victim and attempted to drag the victim inside the residence. During the struggle, he said the victim bit and scratched his arm while trying to get away, and told the child to call 911.

The alleged victim told officers the argument began over a disagreement about the difference between a FaceTime audio call and a FaceTime video call, and said there were no injuries and the victim did not want to pursue charges. Officers determined the suspect was the primary aggressor and took him into custody without incident.

Throckmorton entered a not guilty plea to the charge on March 9. His trial is set for June 17. A no-contact order was set, and a $2,500 cash or surety bond was set by Judge David Boling.

Dr. Corey Throckmorton is the high school principal of Concord Schools, according to their website.
