Registered Sex Offender Arrested for Failing to Report Address Change, Living Near School

JONESBORO, Ark. — A registered sex offender was arrested after authorities say he failed to report a change of address and was found living near a school and daycare facility.

Kuanta Deon Temple, 49, of Jonesboro, was arrested on charges of failure to register as a sex offender, a Class C felony, and registered offender living near a school or daycare, a Class D felony.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Temple is required to register as a sex offender in Arkansas and was assessed as a Risk Level 3 (high risk) offender by the Arkansas Department of Corrections’ Sex Offender Community Notification Assessment division on Sept. 16, 2022.

Investigators reported that Temple was contacted at a residence on Roseclair Drive on Jan. 31, 2026. Temple told authorities he had been living at 400 E. Roseclair since being evicted from a previous address on Nathan Drive in December 2025.

Authorities said Temple had previously reported the Nathan Drive address as his residence but was evicted and the property owner confirmed he had been removed from the home in November 2025. Investigators said the residence had remained vacant since that time.

Under Arkansas law, registered sex offenders must report any change in residence, mailing address, or temporary domicile in person to the local law enforcement agency with jurisdiction at the time of the change. The notification must occur no later than five days before establishing a new residence unless the move is caused by eviction or a natural disaster.

The affidavit states that Temple had not contacted authorities regarding any address change since November 2025.

Investigators also determined that the residence at 400 E. Roseclair is located within 1,000 feet of Mills Park and approximately 278 feet from the Parker Road Community Center. Arkansas law prohibits certain registered sex offenders, including those assessed as Level 3 or Level 4, from living within 2,000 feet of property where a public park, school, or daycare facility is located.

Temple was arrested and booked into jail.

Judge David Boling set bail at $500,000 cash or surety and ordered a GPS ankle monitor. Temple’s next court date is scheduled for April 23.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
