Brookland Suspect Arrested After Allegedly Using Loyalty Rewards System to Commit Fraud

JONESBORO, Ark. — A Brookland suspect was arrested after police say he fraudulently used a business’s loyalty rewards system to obtain gift cards and merchandise.

Duel Landon Moss, 27, of Brookland, was arrested on suspicion of computer fraud, a Class D felony, and theft. He was later released from the Craighead County Detention Center on an own recognizance bond set by Judge Skip Mooney. Moss is scheduled to return to court on March 20.

According to the Jonesboro Police Department, an officer was dispatched Feb. 17, 2026, to a business on East Johnson Avenue regarding a reported theft.

Police said the complainant advised that a previous employee had been committing fraud through the company’s loyalty rewards system by applying his personal rewards account to customer purchases.

The manager provided officers with an investigation packet prepared by the business’s loss prevention investigators. The packet included a breakdown of alleged misuse of the computer system in which, after a customer completed a credit card purchase, Moss would apply his loyalty account to the transaction and then later return to the purchase to claim the points.

Investigators reported that Moss allegedly fraudulently collected points from 914 transactions between September 2025 and his termination in February 2026.

Police said Moss allegedly used those points to redeem a total of 36 free items valued at $129.60, 17 gift cards totaling $135, and a discount on personal purchases totaling $99.58 in redeemed points.

The total known value of stolen items related to the alleged fraud equaled $364.18.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
