JONESBORO, Ark. — A Jonesboro man was arrested after police say he pointed a gun at his girlfriend’s head, threatened to kill her, and prevented her from leaving their home.
According to a probable cause affidavit, on Feb. 5, 2026, Jonesboro police spoke with the alleged victim, who reported that her boyfriend, Jonathan D. Davis, had threatened her with a firearm after suspecting she was cheating on him.
The alleged victim told officers Davis pointed a gun at her head and threatened to kill her. She also reported that Davis took her phone and told her she could not leave the residence until he returned from work.
Police were able to locate Davis a short time after the report was made, and he was taken into custody.
The alleged victim and an additional witness told officers that Davis made suicidal statements prior to being taken into custody. The alleged victim also disclosed that Davis had been abusive toward her in the past.
Investigators stated the alleged victim provided photographs of injuries she attributed to Davis hitting her with a belt during a previous incident that had not been reported to law enforcement.
Jonathan D. Davis, 33, was arrested on charges of first-degree terroristic threatening and aggravated assault on a family or household member, both Class D felonies. He was also charged with second-degree kidnapping/false imprisonment, a misdemeanor.
Bail was set at $50,000 cash or surety, and a GPS ankle monitor was ordered. Davis is scheduled to appear in court on March 20.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
