VIDEO: High-Speed Pursuit Ends With Two Arrests in St. Francis County

ST. FRANCIS COUNTY, Ark. — A high-speed pursuit involving Arkansas State Police and St. Francis County deputies ended with two arrests and multiple Tactical Vehicle Intervention maneuvers, according to a police report.

The pursuit occurred Dec. 6, 2025, after troopers were notified that St. Francis County deputies were chasing a gray Dodge Charger traveling northbound on State Highway 1.

According to the report, Arkansas State Police troopers responded from Troop D Headquarters and joined the pursuit. One trooper became the primary pursuing unit south of State Highway 306, where speeds reached triple digits.

The suspect vehicle allegedly made a sudden left turn onto State Highway 306. As troopers closed in near State Highway 193, the driver reportedly attempted to evade officers by turning off the vehicle’s lights and applying heavy braking. A trooper also braked in an effort to avoid a collision but made contact with the rear of the fleeing vehicle, causing damage to the front bumper and hood of the patrol unit.

Troopers then attempted a Tactical Vehicle Intervention. The driver again applied heavy braking to avoid the maneuver, forcing the vehicle into the north-side ditch. Both vehicles remained under control, and the pursuit continued westbound on State Highway 306.

A second TVI was attempted with similar results. The suspect vehicle entered the north-side ditch again and came to a final stop facing west.

After the vehicle stopped, troopers conducted a felony stop. The passenger fled on foot but was pursued and apprehended without incident by Trooper Blake Davis. The passenger was identified as Cameron Wren, 32, and was transported to the St. Francis County Detention Center. No charging information for Wren was available in the report.

The driver remained inside the vehicle and was taken into custody without incident. Due to dark window tint, troopers reported they were unable to see inside the vehicle until approaching, though dash camera footage showed no additional occupants fleeing.

The driver was identified as Joseph Tripp, 30, of Forrest City. While taking Tripp into custody, troopers reported detecting a strong odor of intoxicants. Tripp was transported to the St. Francis County Detention Center, where he allegedly refused to perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests and declined to submit to a chemical breath test.

According to the police report, Tripp was charged with:

  • Speeding more than 15 mph over the limit
  • Felony fleeing by vehicle
  • First-offense driving while intoxicated
  • First-offense reckless driving
  • Open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle
  • Drinking in public or drinking on the highway
  • Driving on a suspended license
  • Refusal to submit to a chemical test

Court records were not available at the time of publication.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
