PARAGOULD, Ark. — A Jonesboro defendant accused of taking more than $25,000 from his mother over the course of a year appeared in court this week, according to a probable-cause affidavit.
Vincent Seaborn, 58, of Jonesboro, was arrested on charges of theft of $25,000 or more and fraudulent use of a credit card, both Class B felonies.
According to the affidavit, the alleged victim reported to police on Sept. 26, 2023, that money had been stolen from her. She told investigators that Seaborn, her son, had been living with her for over a year. On Sept. 19, 2023, she went to her bank and attempted to withdraw money, but was informed her account had no funds available.
Bank records showed money had been removed, and the alleged victim told police she could see that Seaborn had been sending funds from her account to his PayPal and MoneyGram accounts. She also provided paperwork indicating the withdrawals had been occurring for more than a year. When she returned home that same day, she discovered Seaborn had packed up and left. The family told police they had been unable to locate or speak with him since.
The affidavit states Seaborn was transported to Craighead County from Oklahoma on Nov. 28, 2025.
In court, Judge Tommy Fowler set bail at $75,000 cash or surety and ordered a GPS ankle monitor. Fowler noted Seaborn was on probation, had a past theft history, and fled the state before his arrest. He also faces a revocation hearing on his probation status.
His next court date is Jan. 23.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
