JONESBORO – Jolene Mullet filed to run for the Craighead County Quorum Court on Monday, becoming a Democratic candidate for Justice of the Peace, District 1.
“If I’m elected I will always listen to residents’ concerns.,” Mullet said. “I will strive to make Craighead County a place where we all enjoy a better quality of life. I will strive to be a voice for all the people of my district and work for the good of everyone in Craighead County.”
Originally from Des Arc, Mullet has been a resident of Jonesboro for 25 years after becoming a proud Arkansas State University Graduate. She works as a high school English teacher with certification in Special Education.
Mullet has previously worked as a librarian for the Craighead County-Jonesboro Public Library and is a graduate of the Jonesboro Police Department’s Citizen Police Academy program, crediting that program with giving her a deeper understanding of the challenges law enforcement officers face, something she says she will apply in county government by looking out for the officers serving in the Sheriff’s Department.
Mullet is married to Robert Bowen. She is a mom of two, Theo (age 13) and Sophie (age 24). JP District 1 encompasses most of Jonesboro’s West End, Scenic Hills, and surrounding neighborhoods and extends out to Ridgepoint and surrounding rural areas.
