Family Crisis Center Presents Voices of Courage: An Evening with Kit Gruelle

Survivor • Advocate • Educator • Difference Maker

JONESBORO, Ark. – Family Crisis Center is proud to announce Voices of Courage: An Evening with Kit Gruelle on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at 6:00 p.m. at 801 S. Main Street, Jonesboro.

This powerful evening will feature Kit Gruelle, a nationally recognized survivor, advocate, advisor, community educator, and subject matter expert on domestic violence.

The evening will include a free community screening of the HBO documentary Private Violence, which sheds light on the hidden realities of domestic violence in America. Guests may register online at this link if they wish, though registration is not required to attend.

This event takes place during October, Domestic Violence Awareness Month (DVAM)—a time to raise awareness, honor survivors, and remember victims whose lives were cut short by abuse. In recognition of Purple Thursday, a nationally recognized day of action during DVAM, attendees are invited to wear purple as a visible show of support.

Additionally, the Silent Witness Project, sponsored by the Arkansas Coalition Against Domestic Violence, will be on site to honor and represent the lives lost last year in Arkansas to domestic violence homicide. This moving display serves as a powerful reminder of the urgency of prevention, advocacy, and community action.

“Kit’s voice is a beacon of courage, resilience, and change,” said Casey Kidd, Executive Director. “Her story challenges the silence surrounding abuse and reminds us that we each have a role in creating safer communities.”
