JONESBORO, Ark. — A Walnut Ridge man is facing felony charges after police say he was caught driving a stolen vehicle in Jonesboro.
According to a probable cause affidavit, officers located a stolen vehicle parked at an apartment complex on Sept. 21. As officers approached on foot, the vehicle pulled out of the lot. Police conducted a traffic stop a short time later and identified the driver as Kyle Teters, 35, of Walnut Ridge.
Teters told police he paid $100 to borrow the vehicle from someone in Paragould. A check through dispatch revealed he also had a suspended driver’s license.
Teters was arrested on accusations of theft by receiving valued at greater than $5,000 but less than $25,000, a Class C felony, and driving while license suspended, a misdemeanor.
During his bail hearing, Teters told the judge he had been doing well prior to the arrest. Judge David Boling noted, however, that Teters is currently on felony probation and also out on a felony bond from June. Bail was set at $75,000 cash or surety.
All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
