Saturday Shooting in Jonesboro Causes Property Damage, No Injuries Reported

JONESBORO, Ark. — A shooting incident early Saturday morning terrorized a neighborhood in Jonesboro.

The incident report from the Jonesboro Police Department says subjects fired into an occupied residence causing damage and endangering the welfare of the occupants. It happened between 4:45 a.m. and 5 a.m. on Jan. 25 at the 3900 block of Saddlecrest Drive.

Numerous officers responded to a “shots fired” call in the neighborhood, although most of their reports are masked under investigative narratives in the police report.

Six bullet holes were found in the garage door. Two bullets struck the exterior brick of the home. Bullets traveled through the residence causing damage to the interior walls and the shower in the bathroom. The water heater had a bullet hole in the top of the tank, and a 55″ television also had a bullet hole through it. In total, it was estimated that almost $12,000 in damages were caused inside the residence.

Outside, a four-door passenger car was hit during the incident, with police reporting a bullet hole in the trunk lid. A bullet also grazed the passenger side rear door.

Police recovered ten 9mm shell casings outside of the residence.

In total, nine victims were listed as being present in the residence during the shooting. Four of the nine were under 18.

Two suspects are listed in the report: a black male, 16-18 years old, around 5’11”, 185 pounds, with brown eyes and a medium build; and a black male, 16 years old, around 5’9″, 165 pounds, with brown eyes and a medium build.

The suspects face charges including terroristic acts, first-degree criminal mischief, and first-degree endangering the welfare of a minor, all felony charges.

No arrests had been made as of Tuesday afternoon, Sally Smith with JPD said. The case remains under investigation.
