JONESBORO, Ark. — A woman accused of a Class Y felony claimed she didn’t know the pills contained fentanyl – but ignorance of the law is not innocence, the judge told her, as he set a $1 million bond on Monday in Craighead County.
Sierra Mercedes Williams, 33, of Searcy, had a $1 million cash or surety bond set on Monday by Judge David Boling. She faces charges including Trafficking of fentanyl, a Class Y felony punishable by 10 to 40 years or life in prison; possession of meth or cocaine, less than 2 grams and possession of drug paraphernalia, both Class D felonies. She is being held on a parole violation and also has a warrant outside of Craighead County, jail records show.
Also arrested in the case was Delilah Emmie Davis, 38, of Jonesboro. The judge set her bond at $500,000 cash or surety. She faces charges of Possession of meth or cocaine, greater than 10 grams but less than 200 grams, a Class B felony punishable by 5 to 20 years in prison; and possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor. She is also being held on a parole violation.
The probable cause affidavit states that at around 7 p.m. on Dec. 15, 2024, officers were contacted by a parole officer who said ankle monitor activity for Davis had been showing her in Little Rock. She was headed back to Jonesboro when police were contacted. Police noted she had been involved in the sale of methamphetamine and was arrested “multiple times of late.” They suspected her Little Rock trip could have been for drug activity.
Officers located Davis’ vehicle on Southwest Drive near the Parker Road intersection. The vehicle was observed crossing the white line of the roadway. Officers conducted a traffic stop, noting the vehicle continued to roll in the parking lot before coming to a rest. With Davis known to flee and “discard evidence,” they asked her to step out of the vehicle immediately. Williams, the passenger, was also asked to step out.
Officers began to search and found 23 suspected fentanyl pills in an unmarked pill bottle in Williams’ purse, the affidavit said. A small bag of suspected meth, 0.7 grams, was found with a meth pipe in her bra. Field tests showed positive results for both fentanyl and meth.
The affidavit alleges that Davis told police she had a large amount of drugs in her pants. She claimed Williams forced her to put the drugs in her pants at knifepoint, but officers did not find a blade on Williams. They did, however, find a bag of 147.4 grams of suspected methamphetamine in Davis’ pants.
Both are scheduled to appear in court next on January 24, 2025.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
