Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office Makes Arrests in ICAC Cases

CLEBURNE COUNTY, Ark. — A release from the sheriff of Cleburne County detailed several recent arrests of suspects on charges involving children. Below is the press release:

In early September of 2024, the Sheriff’s Office received a tip about a possible child sexual solicitation case.  On September 17, 2024, after an extensive investigation, Detectives with the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office assigned to the Arkansas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force obtained a search warrant for the residence of Michael Hutchins, 38 of Greers Ferry. As a result of the investigation and the search warrant, Hutchins was arrested and charged with possessing matter depicting sexual conduct involving children.

Hutchins is currently held in the Cleburne County Jail on a $15,000 bond.

On October 21, 2024, Detectives with the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office assigned to the Arkansas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a cyber tip that child sexual abuse material was being shared through a messaging app from an address in Cleburne County. Several search warrants were obtained allowing Detectives to trace the IP address back to the user. Detectives then obtained a search warrant for the residence of Daniel Liles, 29 of Heber Springs. While executing the search warrant, evidence was found that led to Liles’ arrest.

Liles was charged with Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material and is currently being held at the Cleburne County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

During the search warrant, Detectives also found a large amount of narcotics along with a firearm that had the serial number removed. Another person present, Davon Williams, 19 of Heber Springs was arrested and charged with Simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, possession of schedule I drugs with purpose to deliver, and possession of defaced firearm.

Williams was booked into the Cleburne County Jail on a $30,000 bond and has since bonded out.

On November 25, 2024, Detectives with the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office assigned to the Arkansas Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a cyber tip that child sexual abuse material was being stored and viewed on an individual’s phone. After several days of investigation, Detectives identified the individual as Broch Romkee, 31 of Locust Grove. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence of Romkee and took him into custody during the execution of that warrant.

Romkee was charged with 14 counts of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material and is currently being held at Cleburne County Detention Center on a $350,000 bond.

The investigation is still ongoing to identify possible victims and other suspects.
