Arrest Made in Connection with August Shooting Incident Involving Judge

HARRISBURG, Ark. — Another arrest has been made in connection with the shooting incident involving a judge back in August in Poinsett County.

The Poinsett County Sheriff’s Office announced on Tuesday it had made an arrest related to the recent shooting incident involving the Honorable Judge Ron Hunter. On December 6, 2024, Timmy Taylor was taken into custody for charges of Possession of a Firearm by Certain Persons and Tampering with Physical Evidence.

The investigation began after receiving information suggesting that Taylor was involved in discussions regarding the disposal of the firearm used in the shooting. During an interview, Taylor admitted that he had hidden a gun linked to the incident.

Detective Stroud’s thorough investigation revealed that Taylor was present during the aftermath of the shooting and was approached by Christopher Ford, the alleged shooter, who instructed him to dispose of the firearm.

Timmy Russell Taylor, 53, of Harrisburg, was taken to a probable cause hearing on December 8, 2024. Judge Pam Honeycutt presided over the hearing. She set a $50,000 cash or surety bond. If Taylor bonds, Judge Honeycutt ordered an ankle monitor to be worn along with mandatory check-ins with Probation Officers.

This arrest underscores our commitment to ensuring public safety and holding individuals accountable for their actions. We would like to encourage anyone with additional information to come forward.
