Paragould Sex Offender Arrested for Address Change

PARAGOULD, Ark. — A man faces a charge that he failed to comply with his registration and reporting requirements as a sex offender in Greene County.

The probable cause affidavit states that Richard Dearing is a registered sex offender in Paragould. He is required by Arkansas State Law to report any address change to law enforcement. Online records show him to have been convicted of second-degree sexual misconduct.

On Oct. 28, Paragould officers were told Dearing had not been at his registered address on E. Dennington since Sept. 15.

On Oct. 30, Paragould officers interviewed witnesses confirming that Dearing had not been living at his registered address for over a month.

Officers found Dearing at an address on E. Locust Street in Paragould. They placed him into custody and took him to the police department for questioning.

During a Mirandized interview, Dearing reportedly gave self-incriminating statements.

Richard Dearing, 39, of Paragould, was arrested for failure to comply with registration and reporting requirements, a Class C felony; revocation of probation; and contempt of court for failure to pay fines.

Bond was set at $25,000 cash or surety.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
