State Police Arrest Forrest City Doctor on Rape, Sexual Assault Charges

FORREST CITY, Ark. — A Forrest City doctor is facing seven felony charges of sex crimes, a press release from Arkansas State Police (ASP) said on Monday. Below is the release:

On Monday, August 26, 2024, Special Agents with the ASP Criminal Investigation Division arrested Dr. Sudesh Banaji, 60, of Forrest City, on six felony counts of Sexual Assault in the Second Degree and one felony count of Rape.

In August of 2023, the 1st Judicial District Prosecutor’s Office requested ASP to investigate allegations of inappropriate sexual contact with female patients during examinations at Banaji’s medical clinic in Forrest City.

Banaji was booked at the Cross County Sheriff’s Office on a $35,000 bond. He bonded out at 3:27 p.m., jail records show.

  1. Forrest City is in St. Francis County. Did the bring him to Cross County for some reason? Here in Cross County we would prefer St. Francis County stuff stay in St. Francis County.
