At Least Ten HVACs Reported Stolen This Week in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. — It has been a difficult week for homeowners and residents in Jonesboro, with a rash of HVAC thefts reported, along with other burglaries and thefts.

Between July 29 and July 31 at the 3900 block of Saddlecrest Drive, a suspect stole a heating and air unit along with other household items. The value of an HVAC unit, estimated at $5,000 or more, makes the theft a felony charge.

Similar thefts were reported this week in the 3700 block of Glitterman Drive. Suspects damaged an electrical box and stole the HVAC unit from outside of one home. A second home had both the outside heating and air unit and the unit inside of the hallway stolen. Three more homes were similarly targeted, bringing the total to five on Glitterman Drive.

The HVAC thefts continued on Keeneland Drive, where both an outside and inside heating and air unit were stolen in the 3700 block.

In total, 10 HVAC thefts were logged in reports released by JPD on Thursday.

Other burglaries and thefts targeted homeowners. Between June 29 and July 28 at the 4000-block of Harrisburg Road, a suspect stole a victim’s property, including an Xbox, a laptop, a desk, and 10 fishing rods.

Between July 30 and July 31, a suspect took rocks and threw them through two windows on a residence being built at the 3400-block of Carroll Drive.
