JONESBORO, Ark. — Authorities have connected two different thefts from area GameStop stores to a Pine Bluff man, and he’s now facing charges in both Greene and Craighead counties.
On May 25, 2024, the Jonesboro Police Department responded to GameStop, 1810 E. Highland Drive, following a report of a theft, according to the probable cause affidavit released today. Authorities were told three males entered the store at 1:08 PM, concealed multiple items, and exited the store without paying at 1:23 PM.
The men departed in a GMC Yukon.
Officers were then notified that the same individuals went to the Paragould GameStop after and stole multiple items once again. While two of the suspects successfully fled on foot, one of the suspects failed his mission and was apprehended. Police identified Robert Ankston as the male suspect. The stolen property was recovered from the bright blue GMC Yukon in which the suspects were traveling.
JPD Detective Madison Dobbs investigated the case and checked intersection cameras to track the suspect vehicle. She reported cameras at Browns and Highland picked up the blue Yukon pulling into the Jonesboro GameStop at 1:07 PM and leaving at 1:24 PM. The detective then used intersection cameras to track the vehicle as it traveled on Johnson Avenue, going toward Paragould.
Robert Ankston, 37, of Pine Bluff, was arrested by the Paragould Police Department in May, where he faces several theft charges. On July 5, he was transferred to Craighead County, where he is being charged with another felony count of theft.

Ankston’s probable cause hearing for Jonesboro was on July 8. Bond was set at $30,000 for the charge in Craighead County.
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

We certainly do have a lot of crime by people from far away. Don’t Pine Bluff and Little Rock and Memphis have stuff to steal?
