HOXIE, Ark. – A man with a warrant out of Jackson County was arrested over the weekend in Hoxie on possession charges, as well as others.
On Saturday night, Hoxie police officers made contact with a white male riding a bicycle on the south end of the city, police told NEA Report. Officers explained their reason for the stop and requested identification. The man identified himself as Jacob Guyton.
An ACIC/NCIC check revealed no results for Jacob Guyton but showed an active warrant for a Skylar Guyton out of Jackson County. The officers placed the man in wrist restraints until they could confirm his identity. After brief questioning, the man admitted he was Skylar Guyton.
During a search, officers found two small plastic baggies containing a crystal-like substance. Guyton was verbally Mirandized, and he agreed to talk with the officers. He stated that one bag contained methamphetamine and the other contained “reclaim,” residue scraped from pipes for later use.
Guyton was transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center, where he faces charges of:
- Possession of Schedule 1 Methamphetamine
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Obstructing Governmental Operations
- Operating a Bicycle at Night Without Lamps
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
