One Arrested After Suspected Puppy Mill Raided in Jonesboro

JONESBORO, Ark. – A puppy mill was discovered by authorities on Tuesday in Jonesboro, with one person being arrested.

A search warrant was executed Tuesday afternoon, January 30, at 220-Baker Street in Jonesboro. Inside, authorities discovered a puppy mill with over 40 dogs and puppies.

One person has been arrested as of 5 PM, Sally Smith confirmed to NEA Report. Karen Sue Siegel, 62, of Jonesboro, was booked into Craighead County Detention Center on a charge of cruelty to animals. JPD confirmed her arrest was from this case.

Authorities and animal care workers were at the scene wearing clean suits with masks while removing the dozens of animals from the home.

The condition of some of the dogs was extreme, including deaths. More information related to this will be released as the investigation is conducted, Smith said.
