Man Faces Felony Charge Following Domestic Violence Incident in Greene County

PARAGOULD, Ark. – A Lafe man is facing charges, including a felony, following a domestic violence incident that occurred the day after Christmas in Greene County.

According to the probable cause affidavit, the Paragould Police Department received the domestic battery report on December 26, 2023. While the exact cause of the incident remains unclear, its aftermath was documented in detail.

The alleged victim informed the police that the suspect had slammed a car door onto them, resulting in injuries to their left arm and side. Additionally, the victim reported that during the altercation, the suspect had choked them, causing neck injuries. Photos of the injuries were provided by the victim.

On December 29, during a subsequent interview, the victim presented video evidence of the suspect confessing to the incident.

On January 2, 2024, the suspect was interviewed. Following the reading of his Miranda rights, the affidavit indicates that he made self-incriminating statements.

Jason McDaniel of Lafe is being charged with aggravated assault on a family or household member, categorized as a felony, and third-degree domestic battering, classified as a misdemeanor.

As a condition for his release, a $10,000 cash-only bond was set. The suspect was also ordered not to have any contact with the victim and to refrain from possessing weapons throughout his release.
