The Jonesboro Advertising and Promotion Commission’s Downtown Jonesboro BBQ and Music festival announced plans for two nights of music this year with Country Music star Priscilla Block performing Friday night Sept. 29th with special guest TRIPPP. Country Star Jameson Rodgers headlines Saturday Sept. 30th on the RightFiberStage in Downtown Jonesboro with special guest Shane Profitt.

Pricilla Block came to prominence in 2020. “I write about what I know,” Priscilla says. “If that’s heartbreak or struggle or owning my flaws and being unapologetically me.” Doing things her own way has paid off. Pegged as an “Artist to Watch” by virtually every major Country music media outlet (including Amazon Music, PANDORA, Spotify, CMT, The Boot, MusicRow, HITS, Sounds Like Nashville,Country Now, Music Mayhem and more,) Block has surpassed more than 500 million digital streams and counting with tracks like “Just About Over You,” “Wish You Were the Whiskey,” “I Bet You Wanna Know,” and Top 25 charting hit, “My Bar,” all featured on her major label debut album, Welcome to the Block Party, which was included on The New York Times‘ list of “Best Albums of 2022.” You, Me and Whisky, her duet with Justin Moore, is currently in the top 10 country on the country charts.
Jameson Rodgers debut album Bet You’re From a Small Town, has received critical acclaim in the country music world. A MusicRowDiscovery Artist of the Year winner and iHeartRadio Music Awards nominee, Rodgers earned back-to-back Platinum certified, No. 1 hits of his own (“Some Girls” and “Cold Beer Calling My Name” featuring Luke Combs). The hard-touring entertainer is also an in-demand songwriter, co-penning multi-Platinum hits for Florida Georgia Line (Top 10 single “Talk You Out of It”) and Chris Lane (No. 1 smash “I Don’t Know About You”), plus deep cuts for Jason Aldean, Luke Bryan, Jon Pardi, Jordan Davis and more. Named to breakthrough artist programs including CMA KixStart and Opry NextStage, Rodgers kicked off 2023 on the road with longtime friend and collaborator HARDY for his sold-out the mockingbird & THE CROW Tour and will join Old Dominion and Davis for select dates through the summer and fall.
Shane Profitt, is an emerging artist who has several songs on the Billboard Country Airway, including “Better Off Fishin’,” chest-thumping charmer “Guys Like Me” and his hopeful heaven-on-earth Country radio single “How It Oughta Be”. Profitt got his start in a chance meeting with country music singer Chris Janson and his wife, Kelly, who is now his manager. The Jansons signed Profitt to a songwriting contract, which led to Janson recording two of his songs on his 2021 album All In. He also selected Profitt as an opening act on his Halfway to Crazy tour. Opening for Profitt will be the local band Native Strangers.
The festival also hosts the First National Bank, Kansas City Barbecue Society-sanctioned Arkansas State Championship with over $13,000 in prize money. The Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS) is the largest BBQ organization in the world. Each year, the Grand Champion is invited to the American Royal and Jack Daniels World Championship.
Saturday will also include acts on the North Main MolsonCoorsStage with Tristan Tritt, Zach Childers, Akeem Kemp, Greasy Tree, JB Strauss and more. Saturday’s activities include food and craft vendors and music throughout the day. Vendor applications and more detail can be found at WWW.facebook.com/downtownjonesborobbqfest
