Two arrested in deadly Gladiolus apartment shooting

JONESBORO, Ark. – Two people have been arrested in the apartment shooting from Thursday, February 16 in Jonesboro.

One of the suspects arrested was a 16-year-old, the Jonesboro Police Department confirmed through PIO Sally Smith. He faces charges including first degree murder and first degree battery.

The second arrest was for obstructing and theft of a firearm. Demarrion Vesser, 18, of Jonesboro, was the second arrestee.

Authorities responded to a shooting with multiple victims and one death on February 16 in Jonesboro.

A release from JPD said officers were on the scene of a shooting incident in the Gladiolus apartment complex. Paramedics transported three people to an area hospital, JPD said. The coroner was called to the scene for a fourth victim.

One person was detained the night of the incident, police said.

Detectives were on the scene as of the initial report.

This update was released Friday, February 17, 2023:

On February 16, 2023, officers responded to 3511 Harrisburg Road after a male drove into the parking lot, exited the vehicle, and went inside the store. Upon examination of the victim, officers located several gunshot wounds and began medical aid. EMS arrived on the scene and transported him to a local hospital.

Dispatch also received calls stating two additional victims were located in the Gladiolus apartment complex. Officers quickly responded to the area and found 19-year-old Tyrese Rogers deceased in the roadway, and a juvenile male was treated and transported to a hospital by EMS. The current conditions of the males transported are unknown at this time.
