Swifton Water Superintendent fired over social media tirade and he’s still going

Quotations Including Profanity Ahead

After the Swifton water and wastewater superintendent flushed his career last week by, the now-ex Swifton city employee continued his antics Tuesday night once the news of his termination broke.

KAIT reported late Tuesday that Holland was fired on Monday by the city for  cursing out city residents angry over their public water being literally brown. KAIT had previously reported on the matter with even more vulgar comments by Holland last week following our initial report.

After NEA Report shared the news about KAIT’s reporting, members of Holland’s family began to comment with profanities on our social media post. .

The initial comments were made by Jerod Holland, who is a 2022 candidate for Swifton City Council. He is seeking election to position 2 on the council, currently held by Joey Seibert.

He claimed to be angry that our initial report included a photo of then-government employee Ryan Holland’s Facebook profile picture, which was of his family. And although he selected the photo and chose to make the comments with it, it was our reporter who was at fault for the pixelated version in a much larger photo highlighting his tirade against literal complaining citizens to a government.

Wants to fight. Running for city council.

Still, we immediately edited the photo and replaced it in the story when it was brought to our attention.

Corrected. It’s still his profile photos under the Facebook account he made the comments with. The full image is visible on his profile instead of about 50 pixels which were visible at the bottom of our original article.

Then, Ryan Holland himself made his first comments to the press following his firing.

Former government official.

Holland had no reply to our reporter’s question and a short time later, the entire thread of vulgar comments had been deleted. We attempted to reach out to Holland directly following his termination announcement and he has not replied.

Holland continued his vulgar tirade online against this reporter. However, he also continued to ignore questions about his government responsibilities and being fired.
