JONESBORO, Ark. – St. Bernards Healthcare announced Monday that Internal Medicine Specialist Lee Cranfill, M.D., P.A has joined the St. Bernards Clopton Clinic medical team, which consists of more than 20 multi-specialty healthcare providers.
Dr. Cranfill adds more than three decades of practice to the team at Clopton Clinic, including most recently as an independent physician in Jonesboro for the past 17 years. A native of Texas, Dr. Cranfill earned his doctorate of medicine from the University of Texas Health (UTHealth) Science Center at Houston, the ninth-largest medical school in the United States.
Dr. Cranfill expressed an eagerness to continue the legacy of service started by Dr. Owen Clopton nearly 60 years ago.
“Dr. Clopton began a practice that has prospered ever since,” Dr. Cranfill said. “It’s a privilege to join this team and see my patients here.”
Dr. Cranfill’s arrival brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Clopton Clinic, said Ben Owens, Jr., M.D., Internal Medicine Specialist with Clopton Clinic.
“Medicine runs in Dr. Cranfill’s blood,” Dr. Owens said. “He’s the son of a physician and the brother of one, and he and his family have served this community for years. He will be an incredibleaddition to our team.”
Dr. Cranfill serves as chair of the St. Bernards Physicians’ Ethics Committee and as a member of the Arkansas Medical Foundation Physician Health Program. In his spare time, he enjoys walking his dogs, Willow and Elsa, hiking and kayaking. He has two adult sons and lives in Jonesboro with his wife, Nancy.
