A tragic drowning occurred recently in Cleburne County. Authorities just released more information about what happened.
At approximately 2:41pm on June 6, deputies responded to Damsite Park in reference to a male that had gone underwater and had not resurfaced. Deputies, along with Search and Rescue members, started arriving on scene in about two minutes and began rescue efforts.
At approximately 3:15pm, the victim, identified at Devin Grant, 21 of Memphis, was located, and transported to the hospital where he pronounced deceased.
The Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the circumstances around the drowning, and are asking any witnesses, or anyone with any information to contact Detective Aldrighetti at (501)362-8143.
